Conclusion

I have really enjoyed doing this project as it has not only challenged me but taught me many new things, I have learnt how to appraoch things differently, and also improved my animation and lighting skills. It is an area/style I intend to pursue.

Global Illumination

As I was lucky enough to finish my five transitions with a week to spare I went back and re-created the first three with Global Illumination, here are some frame grabs.

twister

In this transition the idea was to create ever decreasing square segmants of the page that twist and turn to form the new page

Head

This animation was to show the idead being in someones head, then he gets an idea, the lightbulb lights up, then idea bubbles appear with the final bubble having the new page in it.

Block

For my next animation I decided to make thwe page split into eight smaller blocks, then spin into the new page.

Frame grabs of the origami fish and bat

I decided to make two oragami transitions, one into a fish, the other a bat. I first used origami plans to create them in real life, before making them in maya. When I made them in Maya I used a combination of joints with rigid bind, and set keys for verticies.
